Having Lost Their Mom They Were Left On Their Own, Unable To Fend For Themselves With No One Else To Turn To!

Having lost their mom, a litter of feral kittens is left to try and fend for themselves on the cruel streets!

Thankfully a kind-hearted person plucked the litter to safety and volunteer mom Laura stepped up to the plate to offer them a temporary home.

“They were thought to belong to a feral mother, but there was no mother in sight,” said Laura.

After arriving and settling the kittens had to contend with meeting Laura’s resident dog Raylan. Benny, Björn, Anni-Frid, and Agnetha needn’t have been concerned as Raylan loved kittens and welcomed the litter with open paws!

“At first, the kittens were quite nervous of Raylan, but then they quickly realized they loved when he licked them and cleaned them like a mother cat.”

Since he first stepped into Laura’s home, Raylan has showered love and attention on every kitten who arrives through her door. “Raylan was rescued from a shelter where he was going to be euthanized at two years old,” Laura said.

“Originally, he was my foster dog, but nobody wanted him and I ended up falling in love. I quickly realized he was very gentle and loving with small animals, so I started fostering kittens instead, and the rest is history.”

As soon as he heard the kitten’s arrival he swung into action immediately knowing his role. And the kittens quickly adjusted to having a canine dad take on a mothering role.

“They were just starting to eat solid food and their coordination was poor—the perfect age for Raylan to help keep them clean.”

The feline foursome loved all the attention Raylan lavished on them, especially his daily face licks, and trailed after him wherever he went.

“They tried to follow him everywhere and do what he did because they looked up to him so much.”

They all purred in unison whenever he was nearby and climbed all over him when he settled down for a nap.

“Raylan likes to bring the kittens to his bed or the couch for proper bathing, and they will line up hoping to get a ride.”

There was only one place to be for these kittens when it was time for a nap, and that was with their canine dad.

And when it was time for his clowder to have some independence he knew when it was time to let them go.

When his feline foursome had found their forever homes it was time for Raylan to take a well-earned break.

He needed that break too as before long the next litter would arrive needing his love and care.
