The Vet Took One Look Into His Eyes And Simply Couldn’t Do It!

His owner took him to the vet to be euthanized, however, once the vet had got the needle he looked into this dog’s eyes and couldn’t do it!

The dog’s name is Emu, and just by taking one look at him, it’s easy to see life has not been that great for him. But luckily for Emu, this particular vet could see there was still a lot of life left in Emu.

The vet asked Emu’s current owner if Emu could be taken to the Sidewalk Specials’ Adoption day event. And it was there that Emu found himself a foster parent. While there he was also accepted by Vet Point, and the process of healing Emu’s physical condition was started.

Not surprisingly Emu was nervous, but he soon learned the people here were not out to hurt him, they were there to help him. Soon after Emu began to come out of his shell and his true personality shone through. He was gentle, friendly, and affectionate.

Emu loved all the attention, it was clear he just needed to be loved, once he got that he just loved right back.

But adopting out an older dog is not easy, let alone one that isn’t in the best shape like Emu. But his foster refused to give up.

Finally, Sidewalk Specials’ Adoption Day event was here. Emu’s foster was unsure if he’d find a home there, but much to everyone’s surprise, he did! His adoptive family sat there with him all day and showered him with love to make him feel safe.

Two months later, he was all settled into his new home and even had a new name – Nutzie! He even has a new doggy sibling, named Sahara, and the two of them are completely inseparable. They get along so well and enjoy playing and snuggling together.

Emu is now a happy and healthy dog with a loving family who will always take the best care of him. He got a second chance at life all because of a vet who believed in him! Every dog like Emu deserves a second chance. Adopt, don’t shop!

It is hard to believe that he is even the same dog! But after some much-needed TLC, Emu went from a dirty street dog to a beautiful family pet who won’t stop wagging his tail or wearing a smile.
