She saw a dog struggling on the side of the road with a broken leg! Without hesitation, she pulls over to help. Placing it in her car imagine her surprise when she learns its not a dog!
Andrea Athie of Ciudad Victoria, Mexico has become famous for reasons she would probably rather not have. Andrea helped what she thought was a dog struggling on the side of the road.
Even placing the injured animal in her car, petting him and trying to keep him calm as she drove to vet for medical assistance.
Once at the veterinarian’s office she got the shock of her life to learn that this extremely calm canine was none other than a wild coyote!
As you can imaganine the whole incident went viral when Andrea’s brother re-tweeted the whole incident. Not taking particularly Andrea’s possibly hurt feelings seriously, Alehandro pointed to his sister’s apparent confusion as to the species of animal in her car, saying:
“Today my sister picked up a COYOTE thinking it was a run-over dog and took it to the vet.”
Andrea in return said:
“Why did you burn me like that!? Haha, I love you.”
She then went on to say to those interested, the coyote, who she had named Pancho was doing well. Being very well looked after, she pointed out he had never once been the least bit aggressive. The whole time in her car he had seemed like a very friendly, very docile dog.
In another tweet, she added that he would need around five days of treatment, after which he should have recovered.
Athie added that “for his sake, he must have the best possible quality of life and isn’t made to suffer. Every effort is being made to recover [him]. He is a wild animal.”
In another update, she explained that the recovery would take longer than expected:
“Pancho is not responding as we expected, everything is being done for him [but] he doesn’t want to eat or cooperate to try to move after his treatments.”
Concluding, the young animal lover said:
“He is a wild animal, therefore when he outside his natural habitat he grows depressed but we will keep trying.”
