Is This How Much They Think Of Their Dog?

To a dog, family is everything, after all, they are pack animals. That being the case they will do anything for their family. Unfortunately, in many cases, those feelings are not reciprocated in the slightest.

On April 25 at Seguin Animal Services Shelter, a security camera captured what can only be described as an appalling scene. At around 11.00pm two men drove up to the shelter in an SUV.

Once they were sure there was no one about they opened the rear of the vehicle and got a dog. The dog was then lifted up on to the fence and then pushed off it.

The completely bewildered dog tried to resist being pushed off the fence, but these heartless men couldn’t have cared less, and they forced him over.

The dog then fell only to get back to his feet and try to rejoin the men, but he was trapped. Without even looking back to see if he was OK, they proceeded back to the SUV and drove off.

The now completely frightened dog was still looking for an escape as they drove away. He soon realized it was hopeless and he was left in the darkness abandoned by his family. It must have been so confusing, hard for him to comprehend?

Seguin Police Department believes the men dumped the dog in the middle of the night to avoid paying any fees to properly surrender the dog. They posted on Facebook, “If you have information about these men, contact the Seguin Police Department at (830)379-2123. The Seguin Animal Services does accept owner surrender animals but there is a process to do so. Seguin Animal Services is open Monday – Friday 9 am- 5 pm or Saturday from 9:30 am until 12 noon. You are required to reside in the city to owner surrender and there are fees associated with it.”

People are outraged after watching the video and posted comments. Jerri James Gomez said, ” I am sorry but most people know that the proper humane thing to do is to wait until the shelter is open. It’s not just about money, it’s about the process and treating animals with dignity. That poor pup looked scared and hurt from being pushed over the fence. How sad.”

Dogs are lifetime companions and commitments. Anyone who does not see them as such does not deserve to have them. If you are unable to care for your pet, please bring them to a shelter when they are open.
