He Wanted To Give His Best Friend The Best Last Weekend Ever!

Stephen Rampersad, loved his dog, he loved him so much he wanted to give him the best last weekend ever. Little did he know a mouse group of kind strangers already had it organized.

Wilson was 14 years old and not getting any younger, he had huge cancerous growths throughout his entire body, there was not a lot of time left for the German Pointer mix, so Florida resident Stephen wanted to make his final days special.

It goes without saying that the entire Rampersad family was now heartbroken that a member of their family was going to die. But they equally determined that Wilson’s last days were going to be amongst his best days.

Wilson was taken to many of his favorite places, the park, the firehouse where Stephen works, and everywhere the family spent their time.

Of course, there were many cuddles, lots of hugs, pets, basically bucketloads of affection.

On Monday, Wilson’s final day, Rampersad planned on taking him to the relax in the sand at the beach, but stopped at Shaggy’s Restaurant on Pensacola Beach to met with the manager about a landscaping job first.

When the Shaggy’s staff heard the news about Wilson, they went out of their way to give him the royal treatment. The puppy dined on ice cream, a cheeseburger with fries and a whole plate of bacon as the restaurant’s servers sat petting him and soothing him with sweet words.

For Rampersad, it was the ultimate showing of kindness and great comfort when the time came to say goodbye to Wilson on Monday night.

“There aren’t a lot of times in life when you can say, ‘Hey, somebody did something really great,’ or, ‘Hey, somebody really took the time to be kind and make something special,'” Rampersad told the Pensacola News Journal. “But this was one of those times.”
