Having spent the first years of her life chained up in her owner’s yard, beaten on a daily basis, seeing her puppies drown in the mud and squalor. Perhaps this made her more empathetic to the pain and suffering of others?

After three years and numerous phone calls to the respective authorities, she was finally rescued.

The only punishment her cruel owner received was being forbidden to ever own another dog.

Greek laws are pretty pathetic when it comes to animal protection.

Gina’s life took a 360-degree turn for the better when she was adopted by a kind-hearted woman called Mary.

About a month after being adopted Mary took Gina for a walk around their neighborhood.

Soon she began pulling on the leash, pointing with her body toward an abandoned cat.

She had been dumped along with her four kittens in the curbside trash.
