Dumped On The Roadside, Skin, And Bone, Starving, He Still Refused To Budge!

He had been dumped on the roadside with an old recliner and TV. Clearly believing his owner was coming back, this loyal starving dog refused to budge, even though he was skin and bone.

Sometimes people do things most of us just can’t believe. Regardless of who you are or where you come from, dumping an animal ranks right up there. Unfortunately, it is one of those acts of cruelty that is all too common.

Recently on a quiet road in Lincoln County, Mississippi, one such dog was found. Dumped along with a recliner and an old TV, skin, and bone, he had refused to leave, hoping against hope that his owner would return for him. Animal control officer Sharon Norton was alerted by a good samaritan and found the poor pup, still atop the chair. When Sharon approached the puppy he was so relieved he warmed up to her right away. He warmed up even more with some food and lots of affection.

“He looks like he’s been there for about a week, He is skin and bones!.” she exclaimed. “He was very happy when I picked him up and carried him to the animal control truck,” Norton said. “I could feel his tail hitting my back, wagging.

He knows he’s safe now.” From these findings, it’s clear that the puppy did not understand what had taken place. The animal control official says that the animal was waiting in the chair as if they fully expected their mother to come back for them.

Norton has since been vaccinated and dewormed the dog and placed him in the safety of the Brookhaven Animal Rescue League in Mississippi. The dog will then be put up for adoption – with Norton and other locals keen to ensure his new owners take better care of him.
