After Falling Out Of A Tree, This Raccoon Is One Of Them Now

She fell out of a tree when just a baby. They rescued her and now she’s just one of the boy’s.

Pumpkin fell out of a tree when she was only a few days old. Her future family waited for a Mom to come rescue her, but no Mom ever came! They were told by Wildlife Officers that she was too young to survive on her own, they couldn’t bear watching her struggle, so they brought her inside.

Not in great shape they began to nurse her back to full health. Helped of course by their Royal Bahamian Potcake rescue dogs, Toffee and Oreo.

The family lives in the Bahamas where there is no rabies, nor is there any law against keeping raccoons as pets.

PUMPKIN’S FAMILY SUCCESSFULLY NURSED PUMPKIN THROUGH INFANCY. SHE’S NOW A YEAR OLD.

THEIR DOGS, TOFFEE AND OREO, FELL IN LOVE WITH HER.

OREO AND PUMPKIN ESPECIALLY HAVE A SPECIAL BOND.

PUMPKIN GETS REGULAR VET CHECKUPS JUST LIKE THE TOFFEE AND OREO.

SHE THINKS SHE’S ONE OF THEM!

OREO TOOK CARE OF PUMPKIN WHEN SHE WAS SICK. NOTHING A FEW KISSES FROM HER SISTERS COULDN’T HEAL!

RACCOONS CAN BE QUITE CURIOUS AND DESTRUCTIVE.

PUMPKIN IS POTTY TRAINED, ALTHOUGH YOU CAN’T TELL FROM THIS PHOTO.

POOL ADVENTURE! PUMPKIN LOVES PLAYING IN THE POOL.

MUST HAVE COFFEE!

PUMPKIN LOVES TO SNUGGLE.

Pumpkins family didn’t set out to have a pet raccoon after all raccoons are wild animals. But nor could they bear to watch her die outside. They saved her life and only want what is best for Pumpkin. As far as things sit now she is happy with her canine friends, although she may have a bit of an identity crisis!
